2-WIRE INTERCOM SOLUTION FOR APARTMENT RETROFIT
Smart Upgrade without Rewiring
KEEP THE WIRES.
UPGRADE THE EXPERIENCE.
Bring smart, connected intercom to existing apartment buildings — without opening walls or replacing existing cabling. DNAKE 2-Wire Intercom Solution for Apartment Retrofits reuses existing 2-wire infrastructure to deliver a modern intercom experience with lower retrofit costs, less complexity for installers, and less disruption for residents.
HOW IT WORKS?
DNAKE uses existing 2-wire cabling to connect door stations, indoor monitors, and management platforms across the building. Power, audio, video, and data run over the same pair of wires, providing a practical path from legacy intercom to a modern, IP-ready system.

FAQ
Connect the distributor to a router with an internet connection. This provides internet access for the entire system, allowing the system to connect to the DNAKE Cloud and enable call forwarding without Wi-Fi on monitors.
Connect the elevator control unit and management unit to the IP switch, and then connect the IP switch to the 2-wire switch via a network cable to integrate them into the 2-wire system.
The minimum conductor cross-section is 0.2 mm² (AWG 24) due to terminal limitations. The recommended conductor cross-section is 0.75–1.0 mm² (approximately AWG 17–18).
No. Parallel wires can also be used. However, twisted-pair cables are recommended as they provide better noise immunity and interference rejection.
The TWD03 provides signal amplification and signal gain enhancement. It is not required for every installation. However, without the TWD03, the number of devices that can be connected to the TWD02 will be reduced.
When more than 18 devices are connected to a TWD02, a TWD03 is required in combination. The TWD03 receives its power from the TWD02.
A maximum of 4 TWD02 units can be cascaded within the same building, supporting a maximum of 128 residents.
