As online shopping becomes part of daily life, secure and efficient delivery access is essential—especially in multi-tenant residential buildings. While Smart IP Video Intercom systems are widely adopted, managing delivery access without compromising security or resident privacy remains a challenge. DNAKE offers two ways to create delivery codes; this article covers the second—managed by the building manager via the property manager cloud platform.
Delivery codes generated via the cloud platform can be used multiple times within a predefined time range. This makes them ideal for scheduled deliveries, logistics partners, or high-frequency delivery periods. Once the time window expires, the code automatically becomes invalid, ensuring access remains secure and fully under management control.
In this article, we’ll also walk through the building-manager method, which makes it easy to create time-sensitive codes for added flexibility and security.
How to Setup and Use the Delivery Key (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Create a new access rule.
Step 2: Define the rule’s effective time frame.
Step 3: Associate the S617 device with the rule, and click “OK”.
Step 4: Click “Save” to apply the rule.
Step 5: Select “Person,” then “Delivery,” and click “Add.”
Step 6: Input the rule name and configure the delivery code.
Step 7: Add the access rule you just created to this device, then click “Save”. The settings will be saved and take effect immediately.
Step 8: On your S617, tap the Delivery option.
Step 9: Enter the customized access code, then tap the unlock button.
Step 10: You will see all residents listed on the screen. Tap the green Email icon to notify them of the number of packages you are delivering. Then tap the “Open Door” icon to open the door successfully.
Conclusion
The DNAKE S617 Smart Intercom enables building management to efficiently control delivery access through centrally generated, time-limited delivery codes. With support for multi-use access within a defined period and automatic expiration, the S617 simplifies delivery operations while maintaining strong security and resident privacy.
